you make me smile when skies are grey – valentine series 2014 #1
Hello everyone,
It has been a while since I did anything crafty. But due to some heavy new years resolutions i decided to try out new things. So the first thing was to make a simple card. just stamping and coloring… well as you will see i did not completely stick to the rules.
I also started to use all of my stamps… I have a lot. So i selected all my stamps that look like valentine day candidates, and i will use them for some of my cards. Also i will be trying a lot of water coloring. This is my favorite way of adding color to my projects.
This time i will not use pencils but distress markers.
Some tips about distress markers:
– if you put the color down, try to move quickly with the water, especially on darker colors, they tend not to blend well, and if it dries, it will remain permanent.
– So far I only found 1 good combination of skin tones: antique linen and tattered rose.
I used a cute stamp that I piked up at the euro store, it was very hard to find a shop that still sells it. But if you happen to have it in your stash, good thing. As finishing touches i added some sequins and some tiny washi tape from the Simon says stamp December kit
